Why does Screenshot Stitching fail?

Screenshot Stitching requires enough overlap between screenshots—about the height of two lines of text. Without enough overlap, Picsew cannot stitch them automatically. A chat screenshot with a custom background may also fail because the background image interferes with matching-area detection.

Why can't I find Picsew in Screen Recording?

Remove the Screen Recording control from Control Center, then add it again.

Why can't I select Picsew in Screen Recording?

Start and stop a standard system Screen Recording once, then try selecting Picsew again.

What if Picsew still isn't available in Screen Recording?

Restart your device, then try again.

Why does my screen recording video look darker after importing it into Picsew?

If the video was captured with HDR Screen Recording, it may look darker after Picsew converts it into still images. iOS 26 supports SDR/HDR formats in Screen Capture settings. When an HDR video is converted to a static image, its brightness information may not map correctly, so the exported image can look dimmer than the original recording.

To keep future exports at normal brightness, open the system Settings app, go to General > Screen Capture, and choose SDR instead of HDR. Then record the video again and import it into Picsew.

Saved Image Cut Off

The top and bottom of the saved image may cut off after adding a device bezel and viewing it in the iOS Photos app. This is a known display issue with the Photos app. Double-tap the image to zoom in, then pinch to zoom out. You should now be able to view the full image.
